Mentioning the characteristics and virtues of the Day of Arafah,And with it is a dear benefit related to supplication on the Day of Arafat for non-Haj

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

Praise be to God alone, and prayers and peace be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. As for what follows:

1. The day of Arafah is the day of completing the religion and completing the blessing. In the two Sahih books on the authority of Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, a Jewish man said to him: O Commander of the Faithful, there is a verse in your book that you recite. If it had been revealed to us, the Jews, we would have taken that day as a holiday. He said which verse? He said: “Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My blessings upon you, and have approved for you Islam as your religion.”
Omar said: We know that day and the place in which it was revealed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: while he was standing at Arafat on Friday.

2. It is a holiday for the people of Al-Mawqif. He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The Day of Arafat, the Day of Sacrifice, and the Days of Tashreeq are our Eid, the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking.” Narrated by the people of Sunan.
It was narrated on the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab that he said: “The verse (today has been completed) was revealed on Friday and the day of Arafat, and both of them, thanks be to God, are a holiday for us.”

3. It is a day by which God swore, and a great person does not swear except by a great one. It is the day witnessed in the Almighty’s saying: “And witness and be witnessed.” On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, and the witnessed day is the Day of Arafat.” And the witness is on Friday..” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani.

4. It is the Witr that God swore by in His saying: “By the Shaf’ and the Witr.” Ibn Abbas said: The Shaf’ is on the Day of Sacrifice, and the Witr is on the Day of Arafat. is sbeck akrema and eldhak.

5. It is the day on which God took the covenant from the descendants of Adam. On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “God took the covenant from the back of Adam with Numan – meaning Arafat – and took from his loins every descendant that he had produced, and scattered them. In front of him like atom, then he spoke to them and recited, saying: “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes, we bear witness,” lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, “Indeed, we were unaware of this.” Or you say, “Indeed, our fathers participated.” Before, and we were offspring after them. Will you destroy us because of what the invalids did? Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Albani. What a great thing it is. A day and what a great covenant it is.

6. That his fasting expiates two years. It was reported on the authority of Abu Qatada, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was asked about fasting on the day of Arafat, and he said: “It expiates the past year and the coming year,” narrated by Muslim.
This is only recommended for people other than the Hajj. As for the Hajj, it is not Sunnah for him to fast on the Day of Arafat. Because the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, abandoned his fast, and it was narrated that he forbade fasting on the Day of Arafat in Arafat.

7. It is the day of forgiveness of sins, liberation from the Fire, and pride in the people of the situation. In Sahih Muslim, on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “There is no day on which God frees a servant from the Fire more than the Day of Arafat, and it approaches and then boasts.” Angels, and he says: What did these people want?
On the authority of Ibn Omar, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “God Almighty boasts to his angels on the eve of Arafat about the people of Arafat, and says: Look at my servants who have come to me disheveled and dusty.” Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Albani. And God Almighty knows best.

A dear benefit related to supplication on the Day of Arafah for non-Hajj pilgrims

On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (There is no day on which God frees a servant from the Fire more than the Day of Arafat. And He would approach and then boast about them to the angels and say: What did these people want? Narrated by Muslim (1348).
On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas, may God be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafat, and the best that I and the prophets before me said: There is no god but God alone, with no partner, to Him belongs dominion, and to Him is praise, and He All things are powerful.) Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi (3585) and authenticated by Al-Albani in “Sahih Al-Targheeb” (1536).
On the authority of Talha bin Ubaid bin Kariz, mursal: (The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah.) Narrated by Malik in “Al-Muwatta” (500), and authenticated by Al-Albani in “Sahih Al-Jami’” (1102).
Scholars have differed as to whether this merit for supplication on the Day of Arafat is specific to those who were in Arafat or includes the rest of the places. It is most likely that it is general, and that the merit is for today. There is no doubt that whoever was on Arafat combined the virtue of place and the virtue of time.
It has been proven from some of the predecessors that they permitted “definition,” which is gathering in mosques to pray and remember God on the day of Arafat. Among those who did it was Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, and Imam Ahmad permitted it even if he did not do it himself.
Ibn Qudamah, may God have mercy on him, said:
The judge said: There is no harm in “introduction” on the eve of Arafat in the regions (i.e., without Arafat). Al-Athram said: I asked Abu Abdullah – i.e., Imam Ahmad – about the induction in the regions where they gather in the mosques on the day of Arafat. He said: “I hope that it will not be so.” Basra, more than one person did it.” Al-Athram narrated on the authority of Al-Hasan, who said: The first person to know about Basra was Ibn Abbas, may God have mercy on him. Ahmad said: “The first to do it was Ibn Abbas and Amr bin Harith.”
Al-Hasan, Bakr, Thabit, and Muhammad bin Wasi’ said: They were attending the mosque on the day of Arafat. Ahmad said: There is nothing wrong with it, but it is a supplication and remembrance of God. He was told: Do you do it? He said: As for me, no, and it was narrated on the authority of Yahya bin Ma’in that he attended with the people on the eve of Arafat. End. “Al-Mughni” (2/129).
This indicates that they saw that the virtue of the Day of Arafah is not limited to pilgrims only, and that gathering together for remembrance and supplication in the mosques on the Day of Arafah was not reported from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and therefore Imam Ahmad did not do it, and he permitted it and did not forbid it because it was reported from some of the Companions. Like Ibn Abbas and Amr bin Harith, may God be pleased with them. And God knows best.
